Kidney stones, or renal calculi, are solid masses made of crystals.
Originating in your kidneys, they can develop anywhere along your urinary tract, which includes the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra. Kidney stones vary in size and can cause severe pain, urinary problems, and sometimes infections.
Treatment options of kidney stones vary depending on the stone type and size. Factors such as diet, excess body weight, some medical conditions, and certain supplements and medications can increase the risk of developing kidney stones.
